Cannabis and Botanical Extraction

Deep Chilling: Ethanol is deep chilled to subzero temperatures in plate or tubular heat exchangers to be introduced into the extraction vessel. A subzero chiller with special heat transfer fluid, such as Dynalene, is used as the cooling media.
Evaporation: After the ethanol solvent has extracted the CBD/THC oils from the plant material, the mixture is then brought to evaporation temperature in a plate or tubular heat exchanger exiting into a flash tank where the ethanol vapors are reclaimed as a gas and the CBD/THC as an oil.
Condensing: The Ethanol vapors are then brought from a gaseous state to a liquid state in a plate or tubular heat exchanger before being sub-cooled again.
Economizer: A plate or tubular heat exchanger is used to recover energy (BTU's) of the two ethanol streams between evaporation and deep chilling which greatly reduces the load on the chiller.
Deep Chilling: Hydrocarbons such as Propane or Butane are deep chilled into a liquid state in a plate or tubular heat exchanger then introduced as a solvent into the extraction vessel stripping CBD and/or THC oils from the plant. A subzero chiller with special heat transfer fluid, such as Dynalene, is used as the cooling media.
As the mixture is released to ambient conditions the hydrocarbons are evaporated and recovered while the oils are collected.
Condensing: A plate or tubular heat exchanger is used to condense the gaseous hydrocarbons into a liquid state which is then re-used for another stripping operations.
